The 44th Annual Frameline: The San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival (Frameline44, June 18-28, 2020) is the longest-running, largest, and most widely recognized LGBTQ+ film exhibition event in the world. “When Frameline first began, the Festival was considered an act of political and artistic courage, and that hasn’t changed,” SF Chronicle.
Frameline and its hospitality team host 400 official Festival guests, including directors, producers, actors, programmers, distributors, and buyers that range from small independent entities to major studios such as HBO, Showtime, Strand Releasing, Warner Brothers, Wolfe Video, and The Film Collaborative. The Festival is one of the largest annual business meeting places for theatrical, VOD, and educational film buyers in Northern California. Frameline44 will present juried awards for Outstanding First Feature ($7,500). Frameline44 also offers filmmakers impressive opportunities to take home cash awards including Audience Awards for Best Feature ($1,000 USD), Best Documentary ($1,000), Best Episodic Series ($500), and Best Short ($500).
In 2018 Frameline’s Festival was named by MovieMaker to be one of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World. Known for throwing a good party, throughout the Festival there are multiple opportunities to rub elbows with Festival goers, filmmakers, and other industry guests in the heart of San Francisco. From the glam and glitz of the Opening Night Gala, to the cocktail atmosphere of the Centerpiece party, to the celebratory mood of the Closing Night Party on Pride Sunday, the experiences run the gamut. If late night parties are not your thing, there are plenty of networking and happy hour opportunities at the Industry Brunch, Press Days, QT Networking Brunch, and daily Frameline Festival Lounge. Attending filmmakers receive complimentary guest accreditation to access and enjoy the 11-day Festival.
