Greetings fellow UFVA members from the Journal of Film and Video!
I hope that everyone had a great end to their year and equally wonderful start to 2020! I am contacting the whole of the organization to solicit for assistance in the running of our journal.
Because of natural attrition of past reviewers as well as a high level of interest by submitters, the journal is in need of volunteers to read and critique potential articles. Reviewing for the journal entails a small commitment of examining a handful of manuscripts a year and is facilitated easily through our press’s automated online portal. We ask reviewers to give brief, concise and constructive critiques to our potential authors in order to quickly find and print the most compelling and complete work in our field.
More specifically, we are looking for volunteers willing to act as either members of the editorial board(reviewing between 5-7 articles a year) or as ad hoc contributors willing to review articles in their speciality as the need may arise.
All potential volunteers should let their interest be known by sending a brief note to the current editor, MJ Clarke (mclarke2@calstatela.edu). In the note, please include your current affiliation, your wish to be considered for either regular or ad hoc peer reviewing service, as well as two to five keywords indicating your academic specialities and interests.
I hope that this invitation falls on eager and interested ears as acting as a reviewer provides both an excellent opportunity to those interested to contributing to the field and a vehicle for becoming more active in the organization.
Sincerely,
MJ Clarke
