Beautiful Naples, Florida, hosts the 12th annual Naples International Film Festival October 22-25, 2020. Named byMovieMaker Magazineas one of the “Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” in 2019, NIFF celebrates independent film and filmmakers in an all-around world-class event noted for its welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Focused on fostering connections, NIFF offers an environment of cinema appreciation, starting with an opening night film and party in a stunning performance venue and followed by three days of screenings in a luxury theater setting, panel discussions, special filmmaker-networking events and a closing night awards ceremony.
Filmmakers are invited to submit their entries in one of the following six categories: Narrative Features; Documentary Features; Short Films; Florida Films; Student Filmmaker Showcase, K-12 Division; and Student Filmmaker Showcase, College/University Division.
Selected films may be presented multiple times throughout the festival weekend with some eligible for category-specific prizes totaling over $30,000 in 2020: $7,500 each for the two juried competitions (Best Narrative Feature and Best Documentary Feature), $2,500 each for the Audience Award winners in the Best Narrative Feature and Best Documentary Feature category and $1,500 for the Audience Award winner in the Best Short Film category. The Focus on the Arts Award, with a $5,000 cash prize, will be given to a Narrative or Documentary film with an emphasis on one or more of the visual and performing arts.
