In the Spotlight today is the Slamdance Screenplay Competition, dedicated to discovering emerging writing talent. Since 1995 Slamdance has established a strong track record for identifying and supporting new screenwriters. The competition welcomes screenplays in every genre, on any topic, from anywhere in the world. In addition to awarding a total of $16,000 USD in cash prizes, a key benefit of the competition is that it provides basic feedback for every entrant and also offers in depth coverage services.
More than a competition, Slamdance aims to offer guidance and opportunities to its writers. A Grand Prize $8,000 cash award will be presented to the competition’s best screenplay, regardless of its category. The winners of the Feature, Horror, TV Pilot, and Short categories will receive $2,000 in cash, each. All winners will also receive a pass for Slamdance Film Festival 2019 in Park City, Utah.
