UFVA President’s Update

I would like to welcome you to join us in Tallahassee, Florida for our 74thAnnual UFVA Conference: Imagination Untethered.  Our Conference VP, Wenhwa Tsao and Conference Host, Dean Reb Braddock, have planned some wonderful events us.

As usual, there will be many very interesting panels and papers, workshops, new media, film, and script presentations along with ample time to network and celebrate with your friends and colleagues.  If you are thinking about joining us, please submit soon as the program slots are filling up.

We are opening submissions for the CILECT pre-conference day on “Pedagogical Secrets for Teaching Animation.”  This program looks to be very unique and will present creative teaching strategies for animation programs.  Spaces are limited so please check out the program.

We just completed a very robust mid-year board meeting where we made some plans for our organizational future.  We are changing our conference program slightly this year to accommodate what we believe will be an engaging membership meeting with recognitions as well as business.

Lastly, there will be an election this year for a Conference VP elect, an Editorial VP, Secretary and three new Board Members.  We welcome the input of members who are interested in becoming more involved in how we operate and manage the organization.  Serving on the UFVA board is a great way to network and assist the association.  We will be sending more information on nominations and elections very soon.

I look forward to seeing all of you in July!
