To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Kai Swanson and I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Cinema & Television Arts at Elon University. I am also the Festival Director for the World Water Short Film Festival

We are currently in our inaugural year and are excited to support films around the 2022 UN World Water Day theme of Groundwater – Making the Invisible Visible. We are also in partnership with theInternational Groundwater Resources Assessment Centre (IGRAC) andYouth for Global Health(Y4GH).

Films will be accepted in10 categoriesthat include short feature, narrative comedy or drama, documentary, music video, animation, person on the street, and investigative reports. We also have a unique category this year that prompts submissions using the TikTok platform. Winners in each category will receive an IMDB credit for their film and a chance to see their work on the big screen in NYC. Our submissions on FilmFreeway open July 1, 2022. Please feel free to check out our website ( or visit our Facebook and Instagram (@WorldWaterSFF) for more information.

I have attached a WWSFF marketing flyer (PNG and PDF formats) with more information about the film festival rules & categories. We would love it if you would share this information to the ‘Latest News’ section of the UFVA website. These students are the pioneers of our future! We welcome students of all backgrounds and disciplines to submit. We also offer a 50% student discount and waiver code if students reach out to us Feel free to reach out to me if you or students have any further questions.
