In the Spotlight today is the 10th Annual New York City Independent Film Festival(#NYCIndieFF), a celebration of the true independent filmmaker. The Festival aims to discover underrepresented filmmakers with unique artistry, showcasing them to the entertainment industry and public in NYC. The Festival takes place in the historic center of NYC, Times Square – the perfect home for an event geared toward creating incredible opportunities for independent voices.
The Festival will screen 250 films, including documentaries, short and feature films, music videos, animated works, short sketch comedy videos, TV pilots, and web series. In addition to films, the Festival will present the 10 Short Script finalists in a live read session open to the public. The Festival will recognize talent across 17 juried award categories, awarding prizes valued over $30,000 USD.
Throughout the week long indie celebration, the Festival will host an exciting slate of events including after-parties and networking events, live performances and discussion groups, and a VR experience event showcasing official selections in the category. The panels and workshops are hosted specifically for filmmakers to hear directly from industry professionals discuss topics such as Distribution, Women in Film, Crowdfunding presented by Seed&Spark, and Cinematic VR.
