For the second year in a row a $1,000 USD cash award will be presented to the best first-time US short filmmaker by Papaya Films and over 25 award categories will be presented at the live awards presentation.

The mission of FirstGlance is to provide a quality curated, competitive film festival, for professional, first-time and student film makers from around the world and to present, award and champion indie films to audiences who crave original ideas and voices in film making.

In addition to its annual Los Angeles festival, FirstGlance hosts an annual festival in Philadelphia since 1996. FirstGlance programs a month-long online short film competition for content unable to be programmed in the festival, with prizes valued at over $2,000 and the opportunity to premiere at its sister festival in Philadelphia.
