EDIT Media is an initiative dedicated to researching, developing, and educating about best practices in inclusive teaching in our field. The website contains Best Practices for Inclusive Teaching in Media Production, Advice from Faculty to Administrators on Leadership for Inclusive Media Production Programs, and a searchable database of inclusive teaching materials specific to the media disciplines, among other resources.
EDIT Media grew out of conversations and work performed by the Gender Caucus and Diversity and Inclusion Caucus of UFVA. It launched at the 2017 UFVA conference at CAL State Los Angeles, with the association serving as a founding partner.
These practices have been endorsed by the association, which encourages their adoption by media production faculty, programs, and departments.
